A hospital stay can be exhausting – and many people wonder: “Do I still receive my Czech disability pension while hospitalized?” or “Could I lose it during long-term hospitalization?” Let’s clarify what you need to know.

👉 Disability Pension – From Entitlement to Appeals (Main Guide)

Common searches include “disability pension during hospitalization,” “do I lose invalidity if hospitalized,” and “Czech disability benefits in hospital.” This article explains it all clearly and accurately.

🧠 What does the law say?

Disability pensions are not suspended due to hospitalization. Your entitlement and payment continue normally – unless there’s a separate reassessment of your condition.

⚠️ Don’t confuse this with the Care Allowance, which does get suspended during hospital stays.

📝 Ongoing or new assessment?

If you are undergoing a disability claim and become hospitalized, include all recent medical reports – especially those from the hospital. They can strengthen your claim.

🧠 Example

A client awaiting disability recognition was hospitalized due to heart failure. After submitting ICU reports, the pension was granted at level 3. Without those documents, he would likely have received level 1.

✅ Lawyer’s recommendation

Hospitalization doesn’t stop your pension. But:

  • Notify ČSSZ if your health worsens.

  • If it does, apply for reassessment.

  • Always keep copies of hospital medical reports – they matter.
