📋 When should you apply?
If your health condition significantly worsens, or you have a new serious diagnosis, you can request a reassessment.
ČSSZ performs periodic checks, but these may be years apart. If you’re suffering now, don’t wait.
🧾 How to apply
You need to submit a new application for a disability pension. The system does not allow simple “upgrades.” Required documents include:
current medical reports,
recommendations from specialists,
records of hospital stays, rehab, or physical therapy.
📝 Tip: the more specific and documented, the better.
🧠 Example
A woman receiving level 1 pension for chronic back pain developed neurological issues and began walking with crutches. She didn’t notify ČSSZ. At her next regular check, the pension was raised to level 3 – but she lost 2 years of higher support. She could have applied earlier.
